We would like Year 2 to start at lesson 1 of week 1 (not week 1 of the Summer Term as the preceding two weeks are necessary as a foundation for what follows).
Maths home learning for Year 2 is here
The link below is a unit of English work for the next fortnight. This includes both reading and writing activities. If you can, the booklet could be printed out but this is not necessary to complete the activities. However, it will be necessary to use a laptop, tablet or smart phone for part of the session in order to read texts, instructions and activities.
The following is a suggested timetable for completing the English unit over the two week period.
Year 2 - The Myth of Pandora's box
Day 1: Read introduction to Pandora's box on pages 4-5 and do the activity on page 5: What do you think the box looked like?

Draw a picture of Pandora and write a character description.

Reading and Phonics
Here is a link which we feel will really support your child with their reading. You will see that some of these books are Read Write Inc Home Readers and others are books that the children would read in our daily Phonic lessons. We advise that you read the books with your child that match the colour band which they already bring home. It is required that you sign up to create an account, however this is free. Happy reading!
The following links will help provide access to ebooks, storytimes with authors, phonics activities and and support with teaching sounds.
