Welcome to the Dunalley PTFA page of the website.
The Parent Teacher Friends Association (PTFA) are volunteer parents & carers, teachers and governors who are dedicated to enhancing the experience and enjoyment of all children at school. By raising funds, organising events and providing practical support to the school this active group is busy throughout the year.
We are run by a small elected committee consisting of a Chair / Co-Chair, Treasurer and a Secretary, with all parents and school staff being members and invited to attend and contribute to our meetings. Amongst the PTFA members are usually one or two “class” or “year reps”. These members are a vital communication bridge, passing news, events and information from the PTFA to other parents in their child’s class.
PTFA Meetings typically take place once a term with smaller project groups meeting separately to organise individual events.
Fund-raising and support
Fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together.
By raising funds, organising events and providing practical support to the school, this active group is busy throughout the year.
School Discos, The Summer Fair, Cake and Uniform Sales and School Spruce Ups. Activities like the regular School Uniform Sale of nearly new uniform, ensure uniforms are not only affordable for all children, but provide an ideal opportunity to recycle good condition clothes.
We are always looking for new fundraising ideas and anyone can submit them. Donations can also be made without any link to events.
Spending the money we raise
From subsidising school uniforms to buying sports kit and equipment, books and other teaching resources, contributing towards healthy snacks, school visits and providing memorable parting gifts to our school leavers, the money we raise goes towards enhancing our children’s school experience.
Recent money raised has gone towards vital books and teaching resources for the school, sports kit and equipment, contributing towards our much enjoyed Visit and Visitor’s programme and meaningful school leaver’s gifts and much more.
Come and join in the fun.
We have a lovely, enthusiastic group of parents involved in running events and activities, but there is always room for more, you choose how much time you can give: whether it’s organising, reading, baking, raking or just coming along to one of our regular coffee mornings everyone is welcome and very much appreciated.
It’ll be great to meet you!
If you would like to get involved or have a fundraising idea of your own, we would love to hear from you.
