Pupil Premium & Recovery Premium

The Pupil Premium is funding provided by the government to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England.  Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils.  You can find further information here.

The recovery premium grant is part of the government's package of funding to support pupils whose education has been impacted by coronavirus.  You can find futher information here.

In June 2020, the government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up lost time after school closure. This included a one-off universal £650 million catch up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that schools have the support then needed to help all pupils make up for lost teaching time. School allocations of catch up premium were calculated on a per pupil basis. Details of how we used this funding are included in the report below.
